Malaysia’s Top 10 Most Inspiring Young Leaders & Personalities

Nominated and voted by university students

 

This award is aimed to honour leaders who have inspired young leaders of Malaysia through their leadership in business or profession, their community involvement or their personality.

 

Criteria

a)       Key Criteria

Candidates must be a Malaysian citizen between 21 to 45 years old. 

b)      Experiences

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in their chosen field, either from a private or public sector organisation.

c)       Leadership Achievements

  1. Candidates must spearhead at least 3 causes/projects/initiatives, either at national or international level.
  2. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead people in championing a cause or institution.
  3. Candidates must demonstrate leadership through professional or community engagement and responsibilities. This includes the following but not limited to:

     (a)     Entrepreneurial Achievement

     (b)     Community Outreach

     (c)     Civic Engagement

d)      Visibility & Impact

Candidates must have outstanding work and engagement that have impacted or initiated change either at organisation or community level: implementing new initiatives, processes, structures, operating paradigms etc. which will result in transformative improvements in efficiency, value, effectiveness, outcome or satisfaction.

 

 

Categories Descriptions

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

This category is opened to Artists and Entertainers who have inspired young leaders through their works or performance, whether it is Visual, Performance, Music, Writing, Dance, and Film.

BUSINESS

This category is opened to Business Extraordinaires who have inspired young leaders through their personal value and achievements in building, growing and sustaining a business. The business categories include (1) Agriculture, Fishery & Mining; (2) Financial (3) Information and Technology; (4) Manufacturing; (5) Property & Real Estate; (6) Retail & Wholesale; (7) Services; (8) Transport & Logistics; (9) Telecommunications & Utilities; (10) Oil & Gas; (11) Others. 

COMMUNITY SERVICE

This category is opened to Community Leaders who have inspired others through their commitment in improving their community in some tangible way; with no expectation of personal or monetary gain. Candidates in this category are involved in specific activities that address social issues and/or community needs. They often inspire or lead their organisation to add value to others.

YOUTH

This category is opened to leaders who have inspired others by demonstrating positive and impactful leadership in youth development. They spent time in building, mentoring, training and nurturing youth. Candidates in this category include teachers, youth counselors and coaches who have developed and/or implemented various innovative programmes.

MEDIA

The category is opened to leaders in the print, broadcast (radio, television, or the Internet), or journalism field who have inspired young leaders through upholding their professional ethics.

SPORTS

The category is opened to leaders who have inspired the youth through their sportsmanship, fair play and personal or professional achievements. This includes players and coaches in the sports world.

 

 

Nomination

Nomination of candidates is opened to Malaysian learners from both public and private higher learning institutions in Malaysia between 16 to 25 years old. Each nominator may only nominate up to maximum THREE (3) candidates. Nomination will be closed on 7 February 2014, 11:59pm.

The following nominations will not be accepted: self-nomination, deceased persons as nominee, incomplete nomination submission.

Late nominations received after official deadline will not be considered. Upon submission, the nomination cannot be canceled by the nominator.

Total of 5 nominators will be entitled to win an invaluable VIP Pass on lucky draw basis.

 

Selection & Voting

A selection committee, made up of a diverse group of young leaders, will review all nominations received.

Shortlisted candidates will be posted on a dedicated website for young leaders of Malaysia to vote their choice of Malaysia’s Top 10 Most Inspiring Leader.

Voting is opened to Malaysian learners from both public and private higher learning institutions in Malaysia between 16 to 25 years old. Voter is to register via www.uschos.com/ulls-vote before they could vote for their choice of inspiring leaders. Each voter may only vote up to maximum THREE (3) candidates. Voting will be opened for 3 months, from 17 February 2014 – 31 May 2014, 11:59pm.

The selection of “Malaysia’s Top 10 Most Inspiring Leaders Award” will depend on the voting results.

In the event of a dispute on the eligibility for the nomination and voting, the decision made by the selection committee is final and definite.

An award presentation ceremony will be held tentatively on 31 May 2014 to announce and award the top leaders.
