Co-Founder and Managing Director of Teach For Malaysia
The dream started with a simple conversation with his colleague, Keeran Sivarajah, where they talked about the problems in Malaysia’s educational system. They concluded that the system needed quality teachers in the classroom. But how? At that time, he didn’t realise that his dream would become reality through the establishment of Teach for Malaysia, a non-profit enterprise that recruits talented graduates or people who are looking to take a break from their current career and assigning them to teach underprivileged schools.
So far, what started out as two people with a dream expanded to a team comprising over 140 people in just three years. The non-profit programme is made possible via his marketing acumen with partners and supporters such as the Ministry of Education, Maxis, Google, YTL and Pearson, to name a few.
